The TSS visa allows you the opportunity to live in Australia while working full time for your employer. There is no age requirement for a TSS visa, and you will also have the benefit of including your family members in this visa. You can easily fulfill your duty to work for your employer in a nominated occupation without worrying about your children’s education or any other support from family, as your kids will be allowed to study while any family member of yours can work too.

Features of TSS Visa, which has 3 streams:

The Short-Term Stream

STSOL (Short-Term Skilled Occupations List) is valid for 2 years and can be renewed for another 2 years or even 4 years if an international trade obligation applies.

The Medium-Term Stream

MLTSSL (Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List) can lead to permanent residency after 3 years if certain requirements are met; otherwise, it is valid for up to 4 years.

The Labor Agreement Stream

Australian employers are willing to hire skilled overseas workers only if they meet their needs of the Australian labor market. This visa is based on receiving a labor agreement with the Department of Home Affairs and having an employer who is willing to sponsor you.

Process

Once you have decided which stream you wish to apply for, then this visa involves 3 steps:

1. You must have a sponsorship application by the employer
2. For a skilled position, you must have a nomination application by the employer
3. A visa application is required by the proposed employee

These 3 steps must be completed, respectively. You don’t have to wait for each application to approve to move to the next step.

Sponsoring Employer

For TSS visa, your employer needs to submit a nomination application for you. This can be only done if they are an approved sponsor or if they have submitted an application to become a standard business sponsor. Sponsors are not allowed to hire an Australian native for this position; that’s why they need to provide compulsory evidence of labor market testing.

A lawful and active business must be operated in Australia in order to obtain a Standard Business Sponsorship agreement, which includes the following:

• Apply under correct ABN,
• The business name should be registered.
• Financial statements should be provided as well as business activity statements (BAS);
• Have commitment to follow all Australian laws and train Australian citizens and permanent residents; also follow all rules at the place of employment.

Employee

The visa applicant must:

• Have the nomination by an approved sponsor for a position and that nomination should be approved also
• Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Have all required skills and qualifications, including completing any skills assessments
• Have fulfilled English proficiency requirements
• Have substantive visa, a subclass 010 (Bridging A) visa, a subclass 020 (Bridging B) visa or a Subclass 030 (Bridging C) visa, if you are in Australia
• Fulfill any conditions that apply or have applied before to your last visa
• Have health and character certificates
• Have eligibility criteria for the stream in which you want to apply.

There are many numbers of occupations that are eligible at the moment. For example, the STSOL has 242 occupations available, and the MLTSSL has more than 200 occupations available currently.
